From the office of the NAIFA-Texas President - May 2025

We live during interesting times and whereas there are extremely intelligent people in this country, there are few things that anyone knows for certain. As you speak with clients, I hope you share that as one of your reasons for being a NAIFA-Texas member.

Thank you to Texas PAC Chairman, Joseph Orr, for leading a valiant charge with Texas having our second strong showing in the IFAPAC Bracket Challenge. Although we were close to winning that challenge, we still intend to finish the year on top of all other states for our annual contributions. This requires support from not only our strong tenured members, but also engagement from our newest and first-time contributors. The entire industry benefits from the dollars that are shared to preserve the interests of our clients and to maintain this wonderful business. Be part of it!

Last month I was asked to represent NAIFA-Texas at the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) Texas conference in Galveston.  We spoke about collaboration and how to support our members by leveraging each other for our common goals for the industry.  Excited to keep the momentum and continue those conversations, I even was able to connect with a few of our own members at their impressive state conference.

May is typically a busy NAIFA month. Along with our national Congressional Conference, May is disability awareness month, and you can find resources available to you at LifeHappens.org.  Texas is known for having a strong delegation of members in Washington DC representing our great state.  First time attendees have an opportunity to receive a stipend from NAIFA National, and this year all Texas members have a window of available NAIFA Texas stipends.  If you need help, contact your local leadership, our State support team, or me if you have questions!

Through the Summer months we hope to continue to celebrate our Centennial year.  Your State Board and Committees are hard at work, and I think all y'all will see the value in the second half of this year, and the plan evolving for the next several years.

Be safe out there and continue success!
