History

History of NAIFA-Texas

The association boasts a rich history since its founding in 1925 as the Texas Association of Life Underwriters (TALU). Today, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – Texas State Chapter (NAIFA-Texas) comprised of 10 local Chapter and Affiliate associations, represents the business interests of more than 1,300 members statewide.

The Mission of NAIFA-Texas is to advocate for a positive legislative and regulatory environment, enhance business and professional skills, and promote the ethical conduct of its members. NAIFA-Texas Past Presidents, Committee Chairs, and Award Recipients have been integral to guiding the direction of the association through the 20th and into the 21st Century.

NAIFA-Texas Awards Program

The NAIFA-Texas Awards program recognizes highly qualified members that have been identified and recommended by their peers for exhibiting leadership qualities, character, significant contributions to the insurance and financial industries, and meet or exceed the required qualifications for the award in which they are being recommended.

NAIFA-Texas presents the following awards to its most outstanding members:

Any NAIFA-Texas member in good standing is eligible to nominate a notable candidate. Standards for consideration are exceptional as are our past award recipients.

2024 Award Nominations-1

The 2024 award nominations will open in Fall 2024. Awards will be presented to the selected recipients at the 2025 NAIFA-Texas Annual State Conference in Austin, Texas.

NAIFA National Quality Award

The NAIFA National Quality Award was created in in 1947, focusing on recognizing outstanding performance by life insurance agents. Today, the award has expanded to include multiline, financial advising, health, employee benefits, and insurance agents. This award provides advisors at any career stage the opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to excellence. This includes:

Professionalism through education and earned designations
Production measured by performance metrics customized for each practice specialty
Adherence to the NAIFA code of ethics, and
Service to your industry association
