1-Aug-28-2025-02-23-24-3575-PMThe Texas A&M Financial Planning Program delivers a CFP®-Board-registered curriculum that prepares students to sit for the Certified Financial Planner™ exam upon graduation. It emphasizes both the technical and human dimensions of financial planning, integrating courses in investing, tax strategy, retirement, estate planning, and insurance with behavioral finance and client communication.

As an extracurricular complement, the Financial Planning Student Association (FPSA) provides participants with opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom. FPSA hosts guest speakers, special events, and supports student participation in national competitions and the annual Financial Planning Career & Education Conference. Through FPSA involvement, students can submit résumés for inclusion in annual résumé books—a valuable connection to employers seeking new talent.

“The students we meet at Texas A&M and other financial planning programs represent the future of our profession,” said Rick Demko, President of NAIFA-Texas. “By engaging with them early, we not only help prepare them for successful careers, but also invite them into NAIFA’s culture of advocacy, mentorship, and leadership. These future advisors will carry forward the responsibility of protecting Main Street Americans, and NAIFA is here to support them every step of the way.”

NAIFA-Texas views these students as the future leaders and members of the association. By connecting early with professionals like Demko, students gain not only industry insight but also a clear pathway to becoming engaged advocates for their clients, communities, and the profession itself.
