Today marks the beginning of Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM)! Each year, during the month of September, the industry bands together in support and promotion of life insurance awareness. The American Optometric Association describes LIAM as, “an observance dedicated to educating Americans about the importance of including life insurance in their financial plans and helping them find the coverage they need.” NAIFA-Texas is proud to be a part of this movement!

LIMRA research tells us that, “despite the fact that people generally recognize the value of life insurance… 46% of Americans are uninsured and many more do not have enough coverage.” Research also shows that before COVID-19, one in three families would face financial challenges within one month if the primary wage earner were to die.

Life insurance has been brought to light more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Households are bearing witness to the fragility of life and how important financial stability is. With the US death toll reaching over 183,000, now is the time to start doing your homework and make sure your family/household is taken care of. Make sure whatever policy you go with best suits you. You can’t put a price on financial stability!
